About Me
Hi, I’m Stephanie—founder of The Wellness Traveler, registered dietitian, certified yoga teacher, and firm believer that you can explore the world and feel your best while doing it.
A little about me
Growing up, I always dreamed of traveling the world. I wasn’t entirely sure how I’d get there—I just knew I wanted to immerse myself in different cultures, try new foods, and experience life outside of my comfort zone.
Fast forward to today, I’ve lived in five cities and traveled to 11 countries (and counting). Each destination has shaped me in different ways—not just through the places I’ve seen, but through the people I’ve met, the meals I’ve shared, and the small, meaningful moments that make travel so transformative.
But as much as I love being on the go, I’ve also faced my fair share of health challenges including digestive issues, chronic migraines, chronic fatigue — you name it! These experiences are what ultimately led me to change careers and become a GI registered dietitian. I wanted to better understand my body, advocate for my own care, and help others do the same.
Over a decade ago, I also became a certified yoga teacher and developed a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection. Both of these paths—nutrition and movement—have become essential to how I travel and live today.
Why I started this blog
The Wellness Traveler is where all of those threads come together. It’s a place to share travel guides that go beyond tourist checklists and help you find:
Local, nourishing meals that support your gut and your enjoyment
Ways to move your body that are accessible and feel good
Restorative, joy-filled experiences that help you stay grounded, even while exploring someplace new
I created this space for anyone who wants to feel well while traveling, without restricting themselves or missing out on what makes a place special. Whether you're managing chronic health conditions, navigating food sensitivities, or just want to bring a little more intention into your adventures, my hope is that this blog gives you the tools and inspiration to do so.
